Widow Warriors - A Yearly Review with Peggy!

I hope you have been enjoying this series called Widow Warriors, A Yearly Review. This week’s message is from my friend Peggy. She has learned a lot over the last two years and has something to share. I believe you will feel her cheer and you read it with a grin from ear to ear.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

— Romans 8:28

This scripture has been a favorite of mine, and in 2021, God showed me in action the truth of this scripture. 2021 was a year that began with sickness, loss, many disappointments, surgery, along with the deep pain in my heart from losing my best friend—the man who even while sick encouraged me, smiled, and told me he loved me every day he was able to speak. The loneliness and fear of moving forward was unbearable at times. Wow!

This widow warrior learned that her true identity and strength was in the True Warrior, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”

— Psalms 32:8

That is exactly what my Savior did. He took all the bad and used it for good to show me He is my healer, my husband, my covering, my protector, my comforter, my everything. Every day as I hold tight to Him and His word, He draws me closer and shows His will for me. Psalm 23 and The Lord’s Prayer became my daily prayers. I was no longer a wife, a caregiver, and no longer had children at home to tend to. It was just me and Jesus! I simply asked, Show me the Good Lord.

I finished 2021 with 25 answered prayers and blessings listed in my journal of how God worked good out for me and my family! Here are some of those blessings I want to share. I stand in thankfulness for His blessings and for these truths that I have received:

· A new beginning for me with my Warrior Savior.

· He made a way for a new home, smaller and quiet.

· A deeper love for Him.

· A refuge to pray and seek Him and study His word.

I am so thankful and blessed that there is a Warrior Savior there for me. He is holding me up and fighting for me every day. He never leaves me or forsakes me and He never grows tired of my tears when I cry out to Him.

It is my sincere prayer that every person who is hurting with a wounded heart will allow Jesus, the Warrior Savior, into your heart and let Him heal your wounds and show you how He can work ALL THINGS for the good. That includes the hard things like sadness and disappointment, sickness and pain. All things can be turned for good for those who love God.

I want the world to know His goodness. Jesus, our Warrior Savior, is the only reason I can be called a Widow Warrior!

Lastly, I want to share my theme song for this year. It is called "God Turn It Around" by Austin Johnson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVDxX6soyVc
