Sweet or Sour, What’s Your Word Power?

This past week, our youth shared from their hearts about the different flavors of the Spirit.

Salty

Spicy

Sweet

Sour

Savory

Sorry

There was a verse given to each youth and then they were given time in the week to pray and ask the Holy Spirit what to share. They did an amazing job. Here is the link if you missed it or are interested in watching it again. (Fast forward to the 53 minute mark to hear this portion of the service.) https://fb.watch/9XFWZDxWpi/

I was inspired by their words, and my heart wrote these words:

"Hearts that speak with words that are sweet allow another to lean into that heart or conversation that much deeper. You want to know more, for the sweetness in those words is evidence that you have been walking with the Father. Some might think it’s just your disposition, but in the world today, it’s taking more than charisma to hold onto our joy

in the day.

"Whereas when your words feel sour, or some might say bitter, the one you are talking to will not want to continue the conversation, for they are not feeling a sweetness that allows one to linger, but a sour presence that follows a desire for disconnection."

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Proverbs 18:21 KJV

“Revelation-knowledge is a delicacy, sweet like flowing honey that melts in your mouth. Eat as much of it as you can, my friend!”

Proverbs 24:13 TPT

“When your soul is full, you turn down even the sweetest honey. But when your soul is starving, every bitter thing becomes sweet.”

Proverbs 27:7 TPT

“Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits.”

Proverbs 16:24 TPT

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Isaiah 5:20 NKJV

Then I had this thought: What happens when you can’t discern the Spirit behind your own voice?

We are a sponge, so what we absorb with our eyes, ears, and hearts effect all our parts. Purity is key to clean wholeness living. If our eyes are absorbing things of this world, and our ears are listening to false truth melodies, our hearts will start to speak that language too. It starts to leak and it can stink. The longer negative thoughts and words sit in your body, the more sour they come out of your mouth onto another. Yikes!! Has this ever happened to you? When the person you are talking to doesn’t recognize their words are sour? What if they don’t know they are speaking bitter words? It’s such a part of their being they don’t know it’s bitter receiving it. Being aware of your personal presence matters in your delivery of the Father’s essence. That’s a good line, so I’m going to repeat it. Being aware of your personal presence matters in your delivery of the Father’s essence.

How can this be when we are heirs of the King? Don’t we walk with a Christ likeness? Yet, the world does not want us to be defined by this. How can you be happy after what you have felt and seen, they may ask? Your response to that question has the power and presence to make another wonder.

What if we actually take Jesus at His word and walk the Word out in your daily lives? Yes, there is still strife. Yes, there are hard times in life. Yet, I believe you can still walk with a joy-ish stride. It just feels better. It’s feel more Christ-like to me personally. Jesus walks with a swag, at least that’s how I see it. I see Him as an amazing conversationalist, the kind that says, “tell me more”. You feel seen, comforted, encouraged, even more confident that something internally is being penetrated in the conversation happening in front of you. Something about it feels like it matters. Something about Him, this man called Jesus, ignites hearts with fire inside. This goes back to something I referenced last week about the burning of men’s hearts as they walked and talked with Him. The same is with us. When we have Christ flowing through us, it makes another feel something within themselves and grin.

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Colossians 1:27 NKJV

“Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!”

Colossians 1:27 TPT

Ok, I think that is enough for now. Sweet or sour, What is going to be your word power?

If you wonder about your level of self-awareness, ask a friend. They will tell you if you have it or not. What happens after that is up to you and Jesus. Happy is he or she who walks with Thee!!!
