Clean Heart

In this Covid season, disinfecting is something we are learning to do often. We are disinfecting while walking into a store, and disinfecting again when we get to our cars. We are not touching doors. We are wearing masks, washing masks, and buying more masks. Numbers are going up. Numbers are going down. Friends all around are getting infected. And so, we quarantine to bring ease for fear of infecting someone we love dear. My, what a year!!

So, this thought hit me. What can we glean from all this disinfecting? It’s praying!!! That’s it!! Every time we wash, we can ask the Lord to wash our hearts too. It’s harder to keep our joy with all these Covid woes. It’s time to pray!! As a country, it’s time to pray!

I want to make this disinfecting season an increased praying season. I want my insides clear of infections and I want the same for my outsides too, first in the natural, then in the spiritual. The more intentional you become in prayer, the more you see God’s hand everywhere. You’ll look back and say, Hey, didn’t I just pray about that? Well, how about that! Jesus, You are near and listening with Your good ear. It’s been a year, but God is listening.

I wrote a song called Clean Heart. I am going to share the lyrics below and add the link to the YouTube video as well. I hope this song brings you some peace to release whatever is heavy on your heart today. It’s going to be a good day. This too will pass like a thief in the night. But, until then, we will disinfect and use that as a marker to pray and connect. We need His presence in every aspect of our lives to make it through all this Covid and political blues. We will be alright!! We will be alright!!  The King of kings is ahead of the fight.  And, if it’s not good, it’s not the end of the story. So, keep looking for the treasures in the trials.

Clean Heart Lyrics:

Verse 1:

You are my Creator

You formed me within

I know that You love me

You’re there ‘til the end

Verse 2:

You are my Father

I know that You care

I trust You to meet me

Anywhere

Chorus:

Create in me a clean heart

Willing to trust You, that’s hard

I choose to trust You anyway

Create in me a clean heart

Willing to trust You, that’s hard

I choose to trust You anyway

Tag:

Ooooo

Take every part of me

Oooooo

Even what I see

Oooooo

I can feel You holding me

Oooooo

Ooooo

Take every part of me

Even what I see

I can feel You holding me

Bridge:

So, I’ll will trust You to complete the work

You’ve begun in me, You’ve begun in me

So, I’ll will trust You to complete the work

You’ve begun in me, You’ve begun in me

So, I’ll trade my will

For Thy will

Take my will

For Yours

So, I’ll trade my will

For Thy will

Take my will

For Yours

So, I’ll trade my will

For Thy will

Take my will

For Yours

Verse 3:

You are my Father

My breath is Yours

Standing at this alter

Make my heart like Yours

Create in me a clean heart

Willing to trust You, that’s hard

I choose to trust You anyway.

So again, say a prayer and feel His presence come right there where you are. It’s time to share and bring your cheer and a smile from ear to ear. You might be the only Jesus they hear and you were made to declare what joy you have found. Everything will be alright.

Here is one more song that expresses my heart for right now as well. It is called Be Alright.

Be Alright by Dante Bowe (Feat. Amanda Lindsey Cook): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq1qGMyl3eQ

Next week, I will discuss the story on the Good Samaritan. Hope to see you come back!

These words sing to me, especially:

Create in me a clean heart

Willing to trust You, that’s hard

I choose to trust You anyway

...with "willing," "trust," "that's hard," and "choose...anyway" being most compelling for me.

Thank you, Micah, for your encouragement in our troubling times. Sin and its consequences cannot abide the Presence of God, and as you have said, each time we invite God into our heart through prayer, our spirit soars, cleansed and free.
