Catching the Wind of His Spirit

Once upon a time, there was a girl who didn’t want to cry. She prided herself on being able to hold her emotions no matter the occasion. She went throughout her life with very few moments ever shredding a tear. Then, on her 16th year, her grandfather passed away. It was a suddenly moment, for he passed of a heart attack. She can remember being at school, in PE in fact. There she found out he was gone for good. Since her grandfather served in the war, the military came to honor him by playing taps and folding the flag. The taps melody broke through to the core of her. The realty that he was gone finally sunk in and it was overwhelming to take a deep breath in. Time would pass and she would marry and have children, but still very little tears would shed until the faithful day she found her husband gone as well from a heart condition. But, this time something was different. Her faith had been prepared for this very special shocking day. She stood over him, pacing with her holy tongues leading the way. The Spirit led the days that followed, for she knew this man she loved would return and stop looking blue. Every day, the Spirit within gave her a song and a verse that drove the course of the day. Confidence was found with an energy beyond her understanding. She believed she could and so she did. She stood on that funeral day and declared God was good and He had a plan.

A song was sung. Catch the Wind by Melissa Hesler https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mEHTrUzd8Ps A song birthed from a place of pain now being sung by a now widow saying goodbye with a melody. [Verse 1] I am strong and full of life I am steadfast, no compromise I lift my sails, to the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind [Verse 2] I am bold, no fear inside Spread my wings, open my life Like an eagle, whose home is the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind [Chorus] Your faithfulness will never let me down I'm confident I'll see Your goodness now I know You hear my heart, I'm singing out There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now [Verse 2] I am bold, no fear inside Spread my wings, open my life Like an eagle, whose home is the sky I'm gonna catch the wind I'm gonna catch the wind [Chorus] Your faithfulness will never let me down I'm confident I'll see Your goodness now I know You hear my heart, I'm singing out There's nothing that can stop Your goodness now [Bridge] Like standing on the edge Of a mountainside I can feel the wind stirring Lifting me up high I was born into freedom I was made to fly

You see, eagles were a part of our story. Ben’s favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles. To his/our favorite passage:

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

If I caught the wind of His Spirit, I could fly higher in my mind to a place that was full of joy so divine. For, heavenly places are joyish spaces. The love I experienced from that funeral day forward has overwhelmed my senses to a place tears now easily release. Y’all, His holy manifest presence tenderized my internal heart layer. And I finally learned that having a tender heart is something that my Heavenly Father desires, for He knows that the only way for a heart to grow is to grow wings that believe beyond what the eyes can see. Y’all he created us to believe beyond us for amazing things, for He is proud to give His sons and daughters amazing things. From dreams to things to children and even businesses, it’s all His, handed down to us to tend to with care. That’s it! When you stay tender, your heart can better serve another from a place of tender loving care. This is Sending and Mending to me, for God sent His Son to go out and find the one. The one who needs a heart mending experience. And from that day forward, anybody who met Him could not question His love or devotion, for they felt something heavenly, compassionate and oh so patiently present. For those reading this today, may you find what you are searching for. And if you can’t find the treasure beyond earth and vessel, send me a line for I will do my best to connect you with the Divine. We are built with an internal homing beacon. You just got to turn the light on within. 💡

Until next time,
