Awareness & Ways to De-Stress

Thank you so much to those of you who posted their questions!!!

I think I can answer a bunch of them in this one blog.

This all started while going to see a sunset in the middle of August. The rays were so beautifully coming off the sun. And so, these lyrics dropped down into my spirit:

No matter the days

He’s still sending down His rays

So, I’ll keep lifting up my praise

Cause, no matter the day I’ll keep on praising

And so, here we go...

As I was writing in my journal from last week’s blog questionnaire, I asked, “Holy Spirit help! What is the theme for this October season? How can I help others?” And with your responses, you have helped me to help you.

AWARENESS AND WAYS TO DE-STRESS!

First question: How do you see past the mess into the land of His goodness?

It’s all around us—do you not perceive it? This reminds me of another lyric to an upcoming song of mine: Your loving kindness is all around us. Through every battle your still in control. 🎶 It’s a declaration. It’s saying, I see Your goodness, and even though the battle is still raging all around me, You’re in control and I’ve finally found Your flow. So, I’ll take hold of Your hand and trust You’re guiding me into another land.

The word “perceive” quicken me, and so I did a word search in the Bible:

“For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it.”

Job 33:14 NKJV

“For God speaks once, And even twice, yet no one notices it [including you, Job].”

Job 33:14 AMP

“But let me tell you, Job, you’re wrong, dead wrong! God is far greater than any human. So how dare you haul him into court, and then complain that he won’t answer your charges? God always answers, one way or another, even when people don’t recognize his presence.”

Job 33:12-14 MSG

GOD ALWAYS ANSWERS!!

Here is a key—God is always speaking, but we aren’t always receiving. We need a tune up! Sometimes, you need a tune up in the Spirit too. We are like a vehicle—we need routine maintenance. But, how do you get there? Meaning, what does spiritual maintenance look like? First, by getting quiet. Second, by being intentional with your reading time. It’s a divine time to connect with the Author and Finisher of our faith. Our faith is contingent on our time spent learning His nature.

Embodiment is defined as the representation or expression of something in a tangible or visible form. When we meditate on the Word, people will start seeing changes in our everyday being, which causes them to believe that something on the inside is happening. The more you ingest Him, the more you become like Him. This is the essence of embodiment.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Romans 10:17 NKJV

Be intentional to meditate on His Word so it can infest your inner world. My awareness of His presence has been what has affected my songwriting. Waking up with a thankful heart has affected my whole being. You start seeing and believing in the unseen. You start praying more specific prayers and testing the Lord—testing His faithfulness not to contest it, but to witness it. I have witnessed His faithfulness. I have witnessed His kindness. I have witnessed His gentleness. I have witnessed His mercy for me. I have witnessed His goodness around me and around us. So, it makes you confident in His faithfulness.

“Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.”

Psalms 27:3 NKJV

Let’s cross reference The Passion Translation and see what we find:

“My heart will not be afraid even if an army rises to attack. I know that you are there for me, so I will not be shaken. Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer.”

Psalms 27:3-4 TPT

What will you change so that you have the privilege of living with Him every moment in His house?

I have had to change a lot. I turned my TV off. My busyness had to be re-evaluated. Exercise had to be added. Eating more nutrient-based foods had to be added. I set boundaries with friends to create time with Him. Just like with a rose bush, my life had to be pruned regularly to continue to produce more fruit. The Holy Spirit helps govern our internal world when we give Him permission, and it’s our job to collaborate with Him to become the best good steward of our being. The more we are being, the more receiving is happening. To me, this is self-discipline. It hasn’t been fun, but it’s making me a more confident person to see the growth along this run.

Be-coming is becoming on you. Who are we becoming? Into His Christ-likeness. When someone says, “I like you,” they are really saying, “I like the Christ in you that makes you, YOU!” When we turn our eyes back to the Father living in the skies, we start to understand the why’s by looking into His eyes. How do we see into His eyes? By allowing our heart to connect back to the tuning. When we tune in, we get impressions that see in. When that happens, you feel Him and everything changes.

So, keep be-coming all that Christ has purposed for you to be. And let me tell you, you will want to cheer and bring a smile from ear to ear, to tell whoever will hear about the Jesus you have felt near. Amen.

To me, the following paragraph in your blog entry is the most meaningful. Self-disciplined change, under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit and in the shared company of fellow-travelers, helping (Loving) each other up in victory after victory, each time we stumble on the ever-present obstacles along our Way closer to God. It IS a Good Run!!!

What an awesome message for this season! I love when you talked about how to do a spiritual tune up and how to prune your life to produce more fruit. Those are practice steps anyone can use to de-stress especially in this hectic 2020 we’ve found ourselves in. We don’t have to succumb to the swirling around us. We can find ways like you have to center ourselves and learn to keep Jesus at the center of it all. Thanks for sharing ❤️
